How Do Customers Join a Queue?

There are many ways that a customer can join your queues. Please note some of these may not be included in your current configuration. If you are interested in additional features, please contact your account representative.
One way that a customer can add themselves to the queue is via text message. If you have this feature, your account has an SMS keyword assigned to it. Your customers can send a text message with the SMS keyword to the number that we’ve provided for you. This will allow them to enter your queue. If you have more than one queue, the customer will be prompted to select the queue they would like to join.
If you subscribe to QLess Voice, you can also use the functions mentioned for texting but replace them with voice calls. This feature also allows customers to call in to add themselves to the queue.
Another way that customers can join your queue is via QLess kiosk. This kiosk allows customers to enter the information that you require.
We also offer the option of using the home kiosk. The home kiosk is very similar to an in-office kiosk and can be linked to your webpage.
Another option when using your website, is to embed our QLess Widget. This is small and embeddable. It will tell your customers how long the wait is, and allow them to join any of your queues by entering their phone number.
If you are interested in building your own user interface to allow customers to join your queues, please contact us about accessing our QLess API integration information.
Finally, remember that staff members can add customers to the line by using the add customer button in Queue Manager and within Concierge if you’re using our iPad app.
No matter how the customers enter the line, these methods of queue entry create a funnel of customers into your virtual queues.
