Setting Number of Resources

This enhancement adds the ability to configure an external resources forecasting parameter that allows Queue Manager to change the number of external resources throughout the day. For example, if there are resources that would affect the summoning rate of a queue, and those resources change throughout the day, then this enhancement allows Queue Manager users to make those changes automatically.

We can enable this feature by setting a default value to greater than or equal to 1. This value should represent the standard number of external resources that would normally be available. Once enabled, a new option appears after the next forecast time:

When a user clicks on the "Resources" link above, a dialog box appears.

When the resources count is changed, forecasts will adjust based on the new value. The reason we require providing a default value is because we'll adjust forecasts by comparing the new value with the default value. For instance, if the default value is 2 and a user changes the number of resources to 4, then we expect forecasts to decrease by 50%. If the default value is 2 and a user changes the number of resources to 1, then we expect forecasts to double.

Its recommended that references to "resources" in Queue Manager should be customized according to the context of the merchant. For instance, if an urgent care has providers that can change throughout the day, then "resources" can be replaced with "providers".
