Troubleshooting Browser Issues

Step-by-step guide

Basic Troubleshooting:

  1. Please ensure that you aren’t running multiple concurrent QLess sessions within the same browser.

  2. Clear your local browser cache, as well as the Flash Player and Java Runtime Environment caches.

  3. Shutdown and restart your browser. This includes all browser windows, not just those running QLess.

  4. Shutdown and restart your computer. This is sometimes necessary, particularly for Internet Explorer users.

  5. Please ensure that you’re connected to the proper QLess URL. If you need clarity on the correct address, look at the computer of someone who’s NOT having a problem and compare. Or you can ask us, to be sure.

  6. With regard to firewalls, please ensure that port 8000 is open tomerchant.qless.com(or whatever platform iteration to which you’ve been assigned, e.g. US1, etc.).

  7. Check to ensure any necessary proxy configurations are put into place properly.

  8. Make sure that any browsers you use to connect to QLess have “[*.]qless.com” in the

    exceptions.

  9. Any desktop shortcuts which point to QLess URLs first should first reference the browser

executable to ensure a new session is opened with that page. This is particularly important for Internet Explorer users.

Browser Compatibility:

Just as a reference, we have successfully tested Queue Manager with current releases of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Internet Explorer, and Mozilla Firefox (see below). Page loads were observed to be generally under 15 seconds. There were no http errors observed, and no failures with regard to Flash dependencies. All testing was performed on Windows 10 machines with at least 4GB RAM and 64-bit Intel i5 cores running at minimum 2.6 GHz.

Chrome (w/ integrated Flash API) v58.0.3029.110:

MS Edge (w/ integrated Flash API) v. 38.14393:
MS Internet Explorer (w/ integrated Flash API) v. 11.953.14393:
Firefox v52.0.2 (with Flash Plugin v25.0 r0 in protected mode)

The major caveat here regarding Firefox is that for Queue Manager to function, the most current version of Adobe Flash Player plugin must be installed AND enabled. MSIE, MS Edge, and Google Chrome are all using a Flash API embedded into the browser rather than an NPAPI plugin like the ones installed in Firefox. Regardless of which browser you choose however, you need to ensure that Flash is enabled. (See below):

Enabling Flash in Chrome:
(Be sure to enter ‘chrome://settings/content/flash’ in the address bar)

If all of the aboveare in place, and you’ve covered the basics as outlined previously, you should be able to maintain a consistent and reliable connection to QLess. Please let me know if you have any questions about this information, or require any assistance in making the aforementioned changes in your environment.
