I need to point my Qstick to a new server (server migration)
Hello! so you are moving to a new server and need to migrate your Qstick to point to the new one, follow the steps below to complete the process. It shouldn't take more than 5-10 minutes. At the bottom we have also included the steps to repin your Qstick in Bomgar, should you run into any issues and need to contact support.
Attach a keyboard and mouse to the Qstick
with the keyboard Hit Windows key + D to get to the Desktop
Either open the terminal at the bottom left (Black box) or hit CTRL ALT T to open the Terminal window
in the terminal window type, "killall firefox" and hit ENTER (no quotations all lowercase exactly as written)
5.Then, Also in the terminal window type "firefox -safe-mode" and hit Enter (no quotations all lowercase exactly as written"
You will get a prompt asking whether you would like to launch in safe mode or refresh CHOOSE SAFE MODE
Navigate the web browser to about:config in the URL bar
If you see this screen just accept risk and continue
Now in the about:config menu, search “Homepage”
Change the “browser.startup.homepage” to the New server provided by QLess, This should look something like this “https://monitor.XXX.qless.com/monitor or for kiosk https://kiosk.XXX.qless.com where XXX is the server name.
Go ahead and close Firefox and either restart the stick or open it normally.
You should arrive at the Login screen for the application of choice, go ahead and put in your Kiosk or monitor login details. and that's it! you should now be ready to go!
